What We Actually Do
Call (571) 517-9476 and you'll talk to someone who can tell you, before a truck ever leaves, whether your door needs a spring, a new opener, or just a track adjustment. We work out of 7500 Iron Bar Ln, Gainesville, VA 20155, and that's also where you can send a letter if you'd rather not call.
Most of the work we do is torsion spring replacement, cable repair, roller and hinge swaps, opener installs and tune-ups, and track alignment on doors that have started binding or running loud. A lot of the houses out here were built sometime between 1938 and 2015, with a cluster from the 1980s and 90s, so we see a wide mix of hardware - from older extension-spring setups that need updating to newer openers that just need a sensor cleaned or a logic board reset.
We don't do cosmetic work like painting doors or fixing dents that don't affect function, and we're upfront about that on the phone so you're not waiting around for someone who isn't coming for that kind of job. If what you need is outside what we handle, we'll say so before we schedule anything.
Where We Work
We're based in Gainesville and that's the core of our service area
But we also go out to the towns within reasonable driving distance: Haymarket, about a mile off, Nokesville and The Plains around 8 to 9 miles out, Bull Run, Catlett, Warrenton, and Yorkshire near the 9-10 mile mark, and farther out to Marshall, Arcola, Aldie, Middleburg, Clifton, and Midland in the 12-14 mile range. Bealeton, Fairfax Station, Upperville, and Remington sit at the outer edge of where we'll take a call, from 16 to 20 miles.
Winters here fall into the colder, more severe end of the climate band
Which matters for garage doors - cold snaps are when old torsion springs finally give out and when opener gear sets that have been slipping all year finally stop turning. If you're near one of the towns listed above, mention it when you call so we can give you a realistic window instead of a vague one.

Work We Turn Down
We don't take on new construction installs where the opening hasn't been framed yet - that's a job for whoever's doing the framing and trim, not us. We also don't do gate openers or commercial rolling steel doors; our work is residential garage doors and the openers that run them.
If your door is original to a house built decades back and the track, drum, and spring system are all mismatched replacements from different eras, sometimes the honest answer is that patching it again isn't worth your money compared to replacing the whole unit. We'll tell you that plainly instead of charging you for a repair that won't hold. And if a job needs a part with a long lead time, we'll say so up front rather than let you assume it's a same-day fix.
Door stuck open or won’t close?
A garage door that won’t close leaves your home open. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll help you figure out the fastest way to get it secured.

Frequently asked
Straight answers about garage door repair in Gainesville. Still unsure? Ask us directly.
Why do so many houses around Gainesville need spring replacement around the same time?
A lot of the housing stock here dates to the 1980s and 90s, with a median build year around 1982. Torsion springs have a rated cycle life, so houses built in the same window tend to need replacement in the same window too - it's less coincidence and more math on how many times that spring has lifted the door.
Do you work out in Haymarket or just Gainesville?
Haymarket is about a mile from Gainesville and inside our regular coverage, along with Nokesville, The Plains, Bull Run, Warrenton, and the other towns within roughly twenty miles. Distance from Gainesville isn't usually the issue on a call.
Is cold weather actually hard on garage doors here?
This area sits in a cold-severe climate band, and that matters for steel doors and nylon hardware. Cold mornings are when brittle rollers and fatigued cables tend to fail, which is why winter is our busiest stretch for emergency calls rather than summer.
Should I replace the opener or just the spring?
Depends on the opener. If it's original equipment from a house built decades back, we'll usually recommend replacing both the spring and the opener together rather than bolting a new spring under an opener that's near the end of its own life. We'll tell you honestly if yours still has life left.
